I’m a Southern girl.
I love sweet tea, front porch conversations, handwritten notes, traditions, and the kind of hospitality that makes people feel like they belong the moment they walk through the door.
Those roots shaped me.
But they don’t define me.
Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that honoring where you come from doesn’t mean staying where you’ve always been.
Some traditions deserve to be carried forward.
Others deserve to be challenged.
And some deserve to be left exactly where they belong—in the past.
The Conversations We Were Never Taught to Have
For generations, women were taught to be agreeable. To be grateful. To be polite. To keep the peace. To stay in their lane. To worry more about being liked than being heard.
We learned how to make everyone else comfortable.
What we weren’t always taught was how to make an impact.
How to shape conversations.
How to influence our communities.
How to challenge systems.
How to lead.
How to use our voices to create change.
But here’s what I know:
Whether you realize it or not, you’re already shaping the world around you.
Every conversation you have.
Every decision you make.
Every business you build.
Every cause you support.
Every person you encourage.
Every room you enter.
You are influencing something.
The question isn’t whether you’re making an impact.
The question is whether you’re doing it intentionally.
Why Women Who Care Change the World
That’s what The UNproper Community is all about.
Not perfection. Not performance.
Not pretending to have all the answers.
Lord knows I don’t.
What I do have are questions.
